Just east of the flyover ramps to and from M-39 there is a transfer to the express lanes from the local lanes. Note the extent of the elevated ramps from M-39: A considerable swath of the City of Detroit was destroyed for this interchange in the 1970s. |

This is the view along the I-96 West express lane at the divergence to the ramp to the Southfield Freeway (M-39). The massive interchange linking the Southfield Freeway to I-96 is visible in the distance. This pictured interchange is undoubtedly the largest interchange in the City of Detroit. |
