Municipality of Hastings Highlands

County of Hastings

This is the northern terminus of Highway 127 at Highway 62 in Maynooth.  Highway 62 is the cross street located just past the sop sign.  Ahead of the stop sign is the Hastings Road, which would have been the original Highway 62 routing into Maynooth from the south.

This is a very odd sign.  Notice that on the right 62 (the square), the '6' and the '2' are different font styles; the '6' being conventional font for two digit signs, the '2' being from the font set that would usually be used on a three digit sign.  Prior to 1998, Highway 62 continued east (north) of Maynooth as well, this would have indicated by a (much nicer) full square assembly.

Highway 127 looking south from just south of Highway 62 in Maynooth.  This picture shows what is probably the lowest standard section of Highway 127.  Highway 127 passes through a fairly remote area filled with some very nice lakes and rivers, however, this scenery tends to be hidden from the driver along most of this route.

Highway 127 looking south over the Little Papineau Creek (the second crossing over the creek north of Maynooth).  The bridge shown in the picture was finished in 1975.

This picture is looking south from the Centre Road in Lake St Peter.  Lake St Peter is the only community of any size located along Highway 127.  It is a full service community.  Evident in this picture is the large lane size, compare the lane markings with the width of the car traveling southbound in this picture; lanes of this size are not typical on most conventional King's Highways.

District of Nipissing

The junction assembly located at the north end of Highway 127.  This highway junction is located about 3 km east of Whitney.
