Autumnal view of NY 240 and Co. Rd. 32 North reassurance markers, located just north of the Co. Rd. 86 intersection.  Cattaraugus County is contracted by NYSDOT to maintain their portion of NY 240, between NY 242 and the Erie County Line.  Consequently, they co-sign NY 240 as Co. Rd. 32.

Northerly view of NY 240 as it approaches its crossing of the Cattaraugus River, which also marks the Erie County Line.  This photo shows that in some locations in Cattaraugus County, a Co. Rd. 32 shield appears, but not an NY 240 shield!  In this case, however, the Co. Rd. 32 designation ends at the upcoming bridge.

Looking south along NY 240 toward the Cattaraugus River bridge and valley.  The 1928 truss span, known as the Bigelow Bridge, was replaced very recently with a modern steel beam bridge.  Rather than replace this historic truss bridge, NYSDOT chose to repair and maintain the bridge for pedestrian use.  NYSDOT should be commended for maintaining this historic structure.

TO NY Thruway, NY 240 and NY 277 shields on NY 240/NY 277 North near the northern split of their nearly 3.5 mile long duplex through Orchard Park.  The northern end of this multiplex is just 0.25 mile north of US 20.  From this point, traffic is directed to the NY Thruway via NY 240 and Ridge Rd., which meets the Thruway 3 miles to the northwest.
