Southerly view from the Caruth Haven Lane overpass.  The Central Expressway was rehabilitated and widened to its current configuration during a series of contracts that took place in the 1990s.  Before that, the Central Expressway was constructed in the late 1940s and early 1950s and was severely substandard and chronically congested.

View looking northerly through the High-Five interchange.  From this interchange northerly, US-75 has a separated HOV lane.  Traffic bound for the HOV lane is directed to the frontage road where access is then provided to the median of the freeway via an overhead structure.

Southbound signage at the I-635 interchange.  TxDOT often paints route markers along the pavement of the freeway at large systems interchanges.  In my opinion, this greatly improves navigation through an interchange.

Northerly view from the Midpark Road overpass.  US-75 has a Managed (HOV) Lane in each direction northerly through Richardson and Plano for over 10 Miles.  The Managed Lane in the US-75 Corridor was achieved by eliminating the inside freeway shoulders and restriping it as a lane.

Two views looking southerly towards the President George Bush Turnpike interchange.  Probably the most striking feature about this stack interchange is its compactness.  All of the ramp connections have only a single lane, and the ramp geometry is best described as tight.

Southbound signage for the President George Bush Turnpike interchange.  Unlike some of the other area toll roads, this tollway is not signed with a distinctive shield.  The signs for the Turnpike are fairly non descript compared to other Dallas area arterial roads.

Advanced signage for the Sam Rayburn Tollway.  The Sam Rayburn Tollway was originally conceived as a freeway alignment for Texas 121.  Due to mounting budget concerns, the highway was instead tolled and is now operated by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NNTA).  Texas 121 follows the tollway's frontage roads.
